MMA was first organized in by a group of Montessori teachers and administrators interested in creating a regional Montessori network. MMA's board of Directors is a volunteer group of administrators and teachers from member schools who meet throughout the school year to plan MMA events and manage the organization. MMA hosts an annual Head of School Networking meeting each winter, which the Heads of all member schools are invited to attend. If you are interested in becoming more involved with the board contact a board member for information. Meeting dates are posted in advance on this website in the "Events" section.

Part-Time Montessori Assistant Toddler Teacher
North Yarmouth Academy seeks a part-time assistant teacher in the Toddler classroom. NYA’s Lower School serves children from eighteen months through fourth grade and utilizes Montessori instruction through kindergarten. The primary duties of the Assistant Toddler Teacher will be to support the lead teacher in all activities and to help set the tone in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree (ideally in Early Childhood Education or related field), and demonstrated experience teaching toddlers or preschool-aged children. Experience in a Montessori environment is preferred, but not required. A passion for working with toddlers; a quiet, soft-spoken demeanor; warmth and generosity of spirit; and dedication to meeting the needs of each child are also desired. The successful candidate will support the Mission of the Academy and embrace the opportunity to work in a vibrant preK-twelve school community.

Interim Director
The Children’s House Montessori School located in Camden, Maine, seeks an Interim Executive Director beginning July 2015.  The Director serves as the Head of School and commands day-to-day school management, marketing and enrollment. The successful candidate must possess strong administrative, marketing, and organizational skills. Fundraising and grant-writing experience is a plus. A minimum of five years leadership experience is required, and the successful candidate must demonstrate the capacity to articulate the principles of Montessori education. A Bachelor’s level degree in education, management, or related field is required; a relevant professional degree is preferred. Must be available to work evenings, attend meetings, and host parent events and fundraisers. The Children’s House Montessori School was established in 1979 and provides authentic Montessori-based programs to a community of 70 students aged between 18 months through 10 years. Infant/Toddler Team Teacher and Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher  
Winfield Children's House, in Falmouth, Maine is seeking a 0-3 certified Team Teacher and a 3-6 certified Team Teacher. Both positions are full-time and year round, beginning in mid August for the 2015-16 school year. Winfield is an AMS accredited school and currently serves students from 4 months through Kindergarten.       
The Infant/Toddler teaching position requires a patient, loving, nurturing individual to work with children 4 months-3 years. Bachelor's degree, knowledge of RIE approach, Montessori credentials or interest in pursuing Montessori training, and experience working with infants and toddlers is required.
Winfield is also seeking a Pre-school/Kindergarten Teacher. The successful candidate must be organized, self directed, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to work as part of a  team. A Bachelor's degree, Maine State teaching certification (K-3 or 081), Montessori certification or and intern working towards certification, and experience working with preschoolers is required.
