Membership
Our membership is open to all
Montessori schools, parents, staff and teacher training
programs in Maine or New England. Board members
include administrators and teachers from Maine Montessori
schools. We endeavor to create a highly supportive
community of Montessori educators and are always open to
ideas and suggestions that will help us achieve that goal.

Mission
The Maine Montessori
Association (MMA) is a non-profit educational organization. Its
mission is to offer professional development, support and resources
to Maine Montessori preschool and elementary schools and their staff
with the goal of promoting high-quality Montessori education
throughout the state of Maine.
Organization
MMA was first organized in by a group of Montessori teachers
and administrators interested in creating a regional
Montessori network. MMA's board of Directors is a volunteer
group of administrators and teachers from member schools who
meet throughout the school year to plan MMA events and
manage the organization. MMA hosts an annual Head of School
Networking meeting each winter, which the Heads of all
member schools are invited to attend. If you are interested
in becoming more involved with the board contact a board
member for information. Meeting dates are posted in advance
on this website in the "Events" section.
